Rib Lake is a 320 acre lake located in Taylor County. It has a maximum depth of 12 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from two public boat landings and three public docks that are wheel chair accessible. The Lake is located within 1000 feet of Lakeview Tourist Park. Ice Age Trail Community
The Village of Rib Lake is an Ice Age Trail Community and a member of the Ice Age Trail Alliance. Hikers can access the trail in the Village of Rib Lake which connects them to approximately 65 miles of Ice Age Trail winding through Taylor County alone.

Rib Lake is a village in Taylor County, Wisconsin, United States. Rib Lake is located close to the center of Wisconsin. The population was 910 at the 2010 census. The village is within the Town of Rib Lake. The jewel of town is their 320 acre lake also named Rib Lake.
Rib Lake continues to invest in their future and can accommodate growth. Current growth has been attributed to growing young families coming to raise their children and take advantage of their quality school district. Retiree’s are also returning to Rib Lake to take advantage of low cost of living surrounded by outdoor recreation.
Outdoor Recreation: Local lakes offer amazing fishing, swimming and boating activities. Rib Lake has many parks, access to Ice Age Trail, and is surrounded by public forests. The options for outdoor activities are unlimited – atv riding, snowmobiling, hunting, horseback riding, biking, canoeing & kayaking, skiing, camping, hiking and wildlife viewing.
School District: Rib Lake has a strong school district well supported by the community. In fact, they just approved a 19.5 million dollar capital improvement referendum to invest in the future of the school district. Proudly, twice the Rib Lake School District has had a school named as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Most recently in 2022, Rib Lake Elementary was one of only 297 schools in the United States to be given this honor, and just one of eight schools in Wisconsin to be recognized. Rib Lake Middle School was also named as a U.S. News and World Reports Best Middle School in 2023. This is possible with their staff and student commitment to excellence.
Community: Rib Lake has many organizations dedicated to making our community a better place to live. The Rib Lake Community Development Foundation strives to bolster our economy and population by leveraging our tourism industry and natural resources, ultimately leading to increased opportunity and happiness for our community members. Complementing this effort, the Friends of Rib Lake actively support and promote local businesses, enriching our community by sharing its resources.
At the heart of our town lies the Rib Lake Public Library. It is a great place to discovery, connection and education. An abundance of free courses are available from classes and free wifi. Their story time for children is a local favorite all year round. Another group focused on providing enriching experiences for our youth is the Rib Lake PRIDE. Rib Lake PRIDE is dedicated to providing youth events to connect with other kids and develop skills. They organize the communities youth baseball and softball teams during the summer. The Rib Lake Lions are an active organization fundraising to support community wide events. Rib Lake Fish and Game Association stock and protect Taylor County lakes so fishing and water activities are available to future generations.
