Winter ice fishing is always popular, especially on weekends. Special ATV routes and snowmobile trails are available for your recreation pleasure.

Check out our Rib Lake Ski Trails. These miles of double-track groomed trails are for your enjoyment! The south trailhead for the Rib Lake Ski Trails is conveniently located in the Village of Rib Lake.
Two convenient, all weather parking lots are provided: on Harper Lake Road two miles north of the Village of Rib Lake, and on Hwy C northeast of Rib Lake.

There are many trails in the Rib Lake area as well as many thousands of acres of Taylor County forest lands nearby. Enjoy this special time of year!

Looking ahead to the first weekend of January is the annual Rib Lake Fish and Game Ice Fishing Contest. Plan to be there for this fun day!
Now that the Rib Lake ice is thicker, people are enjoying the outdoors! Check out your snow machines before the trails open (soon?)!
With the recent cold spell, ice is forming daily. A "mini-village" of fishing shanties is forming on Rib Lake as people are staking out their favorite spots. Br..br..br.. ENJOY!

Free brochures are available for the Camp 8 ATV Trails in the Taylor County Forest recreational area. From the Village of Rib Lake, the Camp 8 trail extends eastward into the forest lands.
Included in this brochure are Rib Lake Ordinances for trail use, as well as Wisconsin State Trail Regulations. It is important for all to be aware of and abide by these rules and restrictions. These are for everyone's safety and overall trail useage.

Current Taylor County Snowmobile and ATV Trail Conditions are available from the Taylor County Forestry & Recreation Department [off-site] webpage.
During the winter season, regular detailed updates are posted for official trail opening and closings throughout Taylor County.
Maps for our local snowmobile trails are available at many businesses and at the Dave Marcis Camp 28 [off-site] Tourist Information Center. Everyone is welcome!
