Rib Lake - Fall Season

Just as spring is the transition season to summer, so to the fall season leads to winter time. After Labor day weekend is the traditional "end of tourism" time, as students return to schools, and summer resorts and cottages close.

For those too busy during summer, the fall season can be a special time of year to rest and relax from recent summertime activities. Proceed at a slower pace, and enjoy the fall!

Fall Colors - Rustic Road 1

Rustic Road 1 is conveniently located just north of the Village of Rib Lake. For the Fall Colorama along this 5 mile route, you can experience many scenic views of Wisconsin outdoors.

Whether on foot or leisurely driving, enjoy the sights and sounds of our Ice Age landscapes. Migrating birds over head, the rustle of newly fallen leaves, breezes stirring the trees, the crunch of gravel underfoot. Rustic Road 1 is a truely priceless experience!

Oktoberfest and Colorama Celebration

A favorite Colorama short drive is from the Village of Rib Lake, north on CTH 'D' to Rustic Road 1 east, then onto Hwy 102, south and west back to Rib Lake.

For a somewhat longer Colorama tour, take CTH 'D' from Rib Lake to Hwy 13 at Westboro, Hwy 13 north to Hwy 86 at Ogema, then Hwy 86 east. At CTH 'C' turn south for a short drive (and stop) at Timm's Hill County Park. Timm's Hill is Wisconsin's high point, with an excellent above-the-trees observation platform. View outstanding fall colors here! Continue south on CTH 'C' to Hwy 102, and returning to Rib Lake.

On the above tour, for a longer route, you can also continue east on Hwy 86 past Timm's Hill, to Hwy 102, then south and west, back into Rib Lake.
